Oral Spironolactone

Oral spironolactone can be prescribed off-label to help with one of the most common causes of thinning in women, female pattern hair loss. It works by lowering levels of the androgen dihydrotestosterone ( DHT ), which can cause hair follicles to shrink over time. Spironolactone may improve hair density, especially when combined with other hair loss medications.
