This series of Bourns Potentiometers are specifically crafted for guitars and bass. What is a NO LOAD pot? On settings 0-9 it acts just like a typical potentiometer. On 10, it is switched off (no connection / no load). When used as a tone control pot, it will result in a brighter and clearer tone (at 10). One favorite use-case is Strat Blender Mod which allows you to use the neck and bridge pickup together, resulting in Telecaster-like tones.
