Caraway Seeds: Description: A nutritional and edible spice, caraway seeds are widely regarded as one of the oldest spices to have been cultivated in Europe. It is an aromatic plant whose use is not only restricted to its seeds alone but also to its leaves and roots. As a huge part of European cuisine, caraway is a member of a family of other spices that include cumin and anise. Caraway plant is a biennial herbaceous plant that blossoms once every two years with flowers that appear in umbels. While it may be easy to identify, the caraway spice looks very similar to the other caraway substitutes. Typically, caraway herb comes with finely divided leaves that are feathery and grow up to about two feet in height.
