DOROTHY THORPE SILVER COCKTAIL STEMS SET OF 6

Set of 6 Dorothy Thorpe sterling band cocktail glasses in the Allegro pattern. They have short tapered stems and are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Each glass holds 14 oz. and measure 4.75”H x 3.5”W. Please inquire for details Dorothy Thorpe was a mid-century designer producing complete sets of table ensembles which were sold at high end department stores throughout the U.S. Thorpe is best known for her simple and classic style. She purchased “blanks” from manufacturers then decorated them with her personal designs. Some of these brandy snifters still retain their Handmade by West Virginia Glass stickers, which helps date them. By the Mid Century she designed glassware with simple silver and platinum wide band rims. This clean modern design was recently revived on the show Mad Men. She died in 1989.
