The handles are very attractive assemblies made by pressing together many thin layers of stained wood, and then sculpting and shaping the handle so that as the different layers are exposed, they form gorgeous surface patterns. The handles have accents of curly birch and reindeer antler, and have both an inset for your index finger, and hooked pommels so the knives will never slip out of your hand. The full-length tangs are evident by the brass nuts on the pommels, giving these knives added durability. The larger knife has visible hammer marks for a "hand forged" look, and the gutting knife has the blade mounted opposite to the contour of the handle to make draw cuts more comfortable. The sheath is nicely detailed with stamped and stained artwork, it contains a plastic liner to prevent the very sharp blade from slicing through, and the belt loop is a twisted leather cord, which allows the knife to swing freely and keep out of the way when you're crouching or sitting.
