Jin Jun Mei Red Tea

What is Red Tea? What we call "Black Tea" in the West, Chinese call "Red Tea" (Hong Cha 红茶.) To respect Chinese tea tradition, I use the Chinese description of "Red Tea", but no matter the name, if you have had black tea before, the taste will be familiar to you! THE TEA Jin Jun Mei, or "Golden Stallion Eyebrows", is one of my favorite teas. This tea is made from very fine tea leaf buds, all picked by hand. A kilogram of tea could have as many as 10,000 individual leaves. The tea is oxidized and roasted, allowing it to retain its fantastic fruity fragrance while developing deeper, rich, malty notes. This combination of rich flavor and light and easy-drinking character is difficult to find elsewhere. This Jin Jun Mei comes from Wuyi Mountain, the gold standard for this type of tea.
