Pair of Arapaho Partially Beaded Moccasins

These are a nice pair of used Arapaho moccasins. The design is good and the beadwork is very even. All of the beads are tiny and the colors are good, except for the bright red/orange beads. From the size of the beads and quality of the beading, I would have dated these moccasins at around 1900 but the red/orange beads throw me. I don't know how early they showed up on the plains. That being said, I think these are a fine pair of moccasins and a lot nicer than a lot of the partially beaded moccasins on the market. L. 9 ½" First Quarter 20th Century #8611
