30"x78" Antique Vintage Old Salvaged Reclaimed SOLID Heartpine Wood Wooden Entry Entrance Interior Door Single Panel

Elegant, interior door salvaged from a 1930's home in Throop, PA . It has a solid fir core covered in a 1/16" thick Heartpine veneer and is stained on both sides. The door has a single recessed (flat) panel on both sides. Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Please note that heartpine is the non-living, core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect & rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores .
