It has 2 thicker, vertical, square rods at both ends, and 7 thinner square and twisted vertical spindles in between. There are several, thinner, S-shaped pieces in the middle for decoration. This piece is quite unusual because its handrail not only curves at the end, but it also curves out at the other end. This must have been at the top of a 1-step landing. Unlike modern, hollow handrails, you could feel the strength and weight of this piece as soon as you grab it.
