Bright Oval Earrings – Flat – Sterling Silver

Same casting as the raised oval version. Then I took a hammer to them. These oval drops are cast in sterling silver from my original designs — and intentionally asymmetrical. Each earring carries a different surface pattern: the same shape, but not the same detail. Worn together, they’re a pair. Looked at closely, they’re two distinct objects. After casting, each drop is hand-hammered flat — compressing the surface and quieting the texture without losing the character of the original form. Then depletion gilded: repeatedly torch-heated and acid-quenched until no more copper rises, then tumbled for hours to burnish bright. The result is a near-white fine silver finish with better tarnish resistance than standard sterling. Approx. 18mm × 10mm. 1.5g per earring. Sterling silver handmade hooks.
