Shabby Chic is a peasant/hippie/gypsy/boho/mori outfit set. Why so many different types of fashions? Because these particular bits are so comfy and pretty, they get around! The patchwork skirt is a great way to use up small, pretty bits of fabric that aren't big enough to go into other outfits, making each skirt unique and cool.
