Knitty Needles quilt pattern

Knitty Needles is a beginner-friendly quilt pattern inspired by traditional Norwegian knitwear – and by all the spruce trees we have around here! Granbar means spruce branches in Norwegian, and it's a traditional motif you'll often find in Selbu knitting. For Knitty Needles, I've taken those little knitted spruce branches and turned them into a modern, pixel-style quilt. The whole quilt is made from same-size squares and uses the web piecing technique – which also makes it PERFECT for scraps. Dig into your scrap bin, pull fabrics from your stash, or start with a favorite bundle. The cover quilt in greens and whites has a cozy Scandinavian winter feel and would make a great Christmas quilt – but switch up the colors and it doesn't have to be wintery at all. Note: The pattern is designed with scraps or a variety of fabrics in mind, to achieve that scrappy look. If you prefer sewing with solids or only one fabric per color group, the pixel-style web piecing method used in this pattern will mean a bit more cutting and piecing than some other techniques – but the clean, crisp result will be just as beautiful!
