Emperor Angelfish (Juvenile)

A juvenile emperor angel in deep blue patterned with concentric white and pale blue rings. It will transform completely into the yellow-and-blue striped adult. Feeding Omnivorous with a sponge component. Sponge-based angelfish preparations, mysis, clam, dried algae and marine pellets, two or three times daily. Compatibility Not reef safe - will eat soft corals, clams, zoanthids and tubeworms. Territorial toward other large angels. Behaviour and personality Juveniles are dark blue with concentric white rings and look nothing like the adult. The change begins at around 8-10 cm and takes a year or more to complete. Before you buy This is a juvenile and will reach 35-40 cm, so it needs a very large system from the outset. Juveniles acclimate more readily than adults, but the colour change takes a year or more and can look patchy while it happens.
