A golden-yellow angelfish with a blue-lipped face and a black-edged anal fin. Beautiful, and a sponge specialist with a difficult feeding record. Feeding A sponge and tunicate feeder in the wild. Requires sponge-based angelfish preparations, mysis, clam and enriched brine shrimp, several times daily. Many specimens adapt poorly. Compatibility Not reef safe - will eat soft corals, clams and zoanthids. Territorial toward other angelfish. Behaviour and personality Cruises steadily and picks constantly at rockwork. Shy on arrival and slow to settle. Before you buy Feeding is the deciding factor, as with most sponge-feeding angels. It needs a large mature system with abundant live rock and several small feeds daily. Not a fish for a new tank.
