An exciting vintage 1940s American dress from "Lewis's Specialty Gowns" , made from a rustly rayon taffeta fabric with a micro check pattern in burgundy & cream. The bodice has a plunging V-neckline with multiple pleats into the cummerbund-style front waistband, strong, padded shoulders & short, narrow sleeves; the flared skirt has multiple tiers of gathered ruffles below the yoke & a decorative bustle bow at the rear waist. It opens down the front to hip level, with loops & quarter-sphere burgundy early plastic buttons. Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
