Framed Abstract Lithograph, C. 1964

Dimensions: 33.5”W x 1.12"D x 26.5”H Gerth Biese (1892–1966) , an American painter and printmaker known for his contributions to mid-20th-century modernism. Signed and dated 1964 , the work reflects Biese’s distinctive use of abstraction, strong geometric forms, and a subdued color palette, which typify much of his later printmaking. Biese’s work is included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum , and he is increasingly appreciated among collectors of American modernist prints.
