Pearlescent Large Flower

Bathroom wall decor has to withstand humidity without losing its finish, and this pearlescent large flower was built from the same glaze process that already proved itself on smaller shapes in the same run. It came out fully opalescent without a proper species name attached, and at this size, it genuinely didn't need one. Confidence, it turns out, doesn't require Latin, and a piece this size makes its case from across the room rather than up close. We kept the "Large Flower" label because that's what the studio called it on the very first pass, and it stuck through every version since. The studio shapes every large flower by hand, which is the only reason the glaze holds its shimmer as evenly as it does at this scale. The San Diego Museum of Art has shown ceramic work selected for exactly that kind of resilience alongside visual impact. Above a bathtub or across from a mirror, it catches light differently depending on time of day, which makes even a small room feel less static.
