A gift for a new homeowner should say welcome without saying much else, and the Rose Pink Hawthorn manages exactly that from a single nail. My neighbor once planted hawthorns along our property line without a word — no note, no conversation, not even a meaningful look over the fence, just hawthorns one morning in a neat row, as if that were a completely normal thing to do in a century with indoor plumbing and the internet. Rose Pink was never their color of choice. It's mine, and it's the one on this wall. Ceramic, hand-shaped and glazed, it never sheds a leaf onto someone else's new hardwood floor and never needs replacing after the first hard frost. It mounts with a single screw, ready before the boxes are even unpacked.
