Potato Chips Bag Ornament

The Potato Chips Bag Ornament is a foil snack bag in blown glass, crimped along the top seam, puffed through the middle, its metallic silver and yellow catching light exactly as the foil original does beneath a fluorescent tube. Rendering something disposable is the expensive brief. A bag has to look flimsy, and flimsy is not a shortcut in glass: the crimp, the slack in the belly, the slight lean it takes on the hook are each a decision, and they cost more between them than a symmetrical object ever would.
